MEISA's version of March Madness!
March 2008 will be the first annual MEISA Service Month! In one month, our nation-wide network of MEISA members at over 40 universities and colleges will be supporting music-related causes. Each MEISA chapter will participate in community service activities to benefit a national, regional, or local organization of its choice.
What can you do?
Get your chapter together to volunteer for an organization’s upcoming event or fundraising effort, host a benefit concert to raise money and awareness for an organization, or organize a community event such as a music forum or class for local schools, shelters, etc. And those are just a few ideas!
Who can you support?
It’s up to your chapter but if you can’t find a cause, let us know! There’s tons of music non-profits out there so do some searching and find one to latch onto. March also happens to be Music In Schools month. Some potential organizations on the national level may include Music For America, Future of Music Coalition, Support Music, VH1 Save The Music, Experience Music Project, Artist Empowerment Coalition, and To Write Love On Her Arms. Locally, there is Club Passim (Boston), Rock For Kids (Chicago), Heart and Soul (Salt Lake City), Lady Slipper (Durham, NC), and Justice Through Music (Washington, D.C.).
We’re counting on your involvement and support so MEISA can really make a difference this March!
Internet Explorer vs. Firefox
It also recently come to my attention that some people swear that they cannot see specific content around the site. However, upon checking, myself and others always find the pages to be perfectly fine. While doing a little research, I found the common trend in everyone's problems. A majority of this site uses tables in order to keep everything aligned and well put together. This was a common feature of the original design and something that I tried to continue using. However, for anyone using Internet Explorer, the tables are often misaligned due to the browser attempting to set things the way it finds suitable. The rest of us who are seeing the site fine are usually using another browser called Mozilla Firefox. Firefox is free, has less security leaks and bugs than IE, and also prevents issues such as these from popping up. If you have not already, for now, we suggest that you download and install Mozilla Firefox from this site. These content problems will be looked at and fixed in the near future.

Update!
After a long and static hiatus, the MEISA website has finally been updated! Information and files are currently being organized, and rearranged to keep the website in order, clean and easy to read.
On that note, there are still some areas that are under construction, so if you reach an error, try refreshing the site. If the error persists, it's because the page has not yet been updated completely. Please bear with me.
Please feel free to look around. If there's anything you'd like to say added or changed, feel free to let me know!
Rate Your Internship
We have a NEW Internship Central section on the MEISA Forum called RATE YOUR INTERNSHIP! This section will help us trade REAL information with each other about internships. As people post internship listings and reviews, you can find direct advice and contacts from other MEISA members in the similar situations. Please start by posting your own internship rating in the Rate Your Internship section, then go from there and respond to some others. The more information, the better!
