Dates and Deadlines:

All submission requirements must be received on or before February 1, 2010. Please contact Kateri Lirio at kalirio@csupomona.edu for shipping address.

Requirements for Submission:
  • 1) A minimum of ONE band member per entry MUST be an active registered MEISA member.
  • 2) Six (6) professional-quality press kits.
  • 3) Six (6) copies of a well-produced CD containing a minimum of two original songs.

*If selected as a finalist, submissions will be sent to judging panel of industry professionals. Please be sure all components are original and professional. Be creative!

Judging:

Due to the high anticipation of entries, there will be two (2) rounds of judging.
  • 1)    The first round will be completed by MEISA board members with no association with competing entries. The first round will narrow the entries down to the finalists who will advance on to the second round.
  • 2)    The judging panel of the second round will consist of five (5) music industry professionals from the areas of A&R, music supervision, concert promotion, booking, management, production and marketing. The MEISA Executive Board will choose these judges.

Judges will evaluate their overall impressions of the entry and score each entry appropriately. In addition to overall creativity and professional presentation, the submissions will be judged on the composition, audio production and quality, CD design, and press kit content and marketability.
