Eligibility
All MEISA
chapters, with MEIEA affiliation, and in good standing, will be
eligible to apply for the Outstanding Chapter Award. A
representative from the selected chapter must be present at MEISA
General Meeting at the 2010 National MEIEA/MEISA Conference in Miami to
accept the award. All applications must be received through email
by February 26, 2010. Please send applications as an attachment
to MEISA President Brittni Liyanage at president@meisa.org.
Application
Chapter
activities: Choose the most outstanding activity for each area
and answer the questions pertaining to it. Examples of activities
for each area include:
A.
Professional: Conferences, workshops, guest speakers, trade
shows, tours, student-run businesses, etc.
B.
Performance: Local Battle of the Bands, Singer-Songwriter
competitions, campus concerts, music festivals, etc.
C.
Social: Networking mixers, campus social activities, recreational
activities, department functions, etc.
D.
Community: Community service projects, music education awareness
programs, Rock The Vote involvement, mentoring programs, etc.
Membership
A.
Recruitment: Campus fairs, presentations, personal
recruitment,
invitation letters, etc.
B.
Publicity/Promotion: Campus emails, campus newspaper articles,
flyers, posters, campus radio, etc.
Supporting
documents: Each chapter may include up to four supporting
documents to their application. These documents may include a
link to the chapter website, or pictures or publicity from the events
described in the application. No more than four supporting
documents will be accepted.
Certification:
The chapter president and advisor (MEIEA sponsor) should sign the
certification page before the application is sent in for review.
This signed page should be scanned and emailed with the
application. If the chapter does not have access to a scanner,
the advisor may email a statement of certification.
