MEISA Grants
MEIEA Student Association Grant Program

The purpose of the MEIEA Student Association Grant Program (MEISA Grants) is to provide financial support for select and notable MEISA activities.

MEISA Grants may be used to support a variety of activities intended to advance student education in the music and entertainment industries and may include--but are not limited to--workshops, guest speaker support, networking mixers, community service projects, mentoring programs, chapter membership drives, etc.

Two Levels of Award Funding

•    Level I Award: Institutional Member.   Up to $1000 is available to nationally registered MEISA chapters at institutions that hold current MEIEA Institutional membership and the faculty sponsor is represented in the institutional membership or is a member of MEIEA and all MEISA officers (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary) are national MEISA members.

•    Level II Award: Non-Institutional Member.   Up to $500 is available to registered MEISA chapters at institutions that are not current MEIEA Institutional members where the faculty sponsor is a member of MEIEA and all MEISA officers (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary) are national MEISA members.

MEISA Grants are not intended to be the only source of funding and chapters are encouraged to pursue other sources of funding as a supplement to a grant award.  MEISA Grants may only be used to fund MEISA organized and sponsored events and must be used as stated in the grant request and approved by the MEIEA Grant Program Committee (substantive changes to the approved program must be submitted and approved by the committee).

Application and Award Process

MEISA Grants are awarded during the academic year.  Awards may be used during the semester awarded or may be used, if so specified in the application, in the following semester as appropriate.  Therefore, an award may be used in the following spring, summer, and/or fall semesters provided the intended time of use is specified in the grant proposal.  Each MEISA chapter is only allowed to submit one application per year.

The MEIEA Student Association Grant Program Committee will review applications.  MEISA chapter faculty advisors will be notified upon decision of the Grant Program Committee.  Allocation decisions will generally be announced within 30 days following an application.

Upon acceptance of an award, the receiving chapter must include acknowledgment of the award on all promotional material, programs, banners, advertisements, etc., associated with the award that states verbatum This event is supported in part by a grant from MEIEA.  All receiving chapters must submit an online accounting report of how the award was used within 2 weeks of the close date assigned to the award.  All programs receiving grant awards will be listed on the MEIEA and MEISA websites and promoted in MEIEA and MEISA publications.
